Plaid Backpack Jansport Questions
Can I spraypaint my backpack?
I have a plaid Jansport backpack and I was wondering if I could spray paint it?Will it look terrible and would the plaid show through? Will it stick the the material?
Sorry i didn’t know what section to put it in.
Never having tried this myself, I would guess that spray painting your backpack might just be a disaster. I suppose (depending on the colors) the plaid could be covered with enough layers. I would be more concerned about the mess. Even when stenciled, spray paint can be difficult to control – it goes everywhere. Also, spray paint is likely to crack and flake when dry.
If your backpack is cotton you might try painting it with acrylic paint. I once cut up a large acrylic painting (on canvas) and sewed it into a raincoat. It repelled water very nicely. If you do use acrylic make sure to use a medium or heavy bodied paint and a stiff bristled brush in order to work it into the fabric well. This could be very cool.
