Do you think this tote bag is good for school?
Well, i’m going to start off the school year with wearing a purple/magenta Jansport backpack, but was wondering if this tote bag was good to wear to school sometimes. Or do you think its gonna fall apart? I WOULD shop at aeropostale or abercrombie or hollister but their stuff is just way overpriced. what do you think? Or do any of you have a better suggestion with something that’s $20 or less?

I think it’s a cute tote and it’d definitely be a good one for school sometimes. I think to keep it from falling apart, just put lighter things in it and carry your books. You could check at Walmart or Target because they sometimes have really nice totes for 10-20 dollars.

I love this bag because it is light and roomy. However after laying it on the concrete a few times, it has 2 small holes at the bottom because the bag is so thin. I got my money’s worth, but will look for something with a leather bottom if you lay your bag on the ground at all.
I owned one of these for over 10 years. It went through college with me and was big enough for all of my books, etc. Post college, my son used it for school and during it all, it went traveling with us several times a year. I probably would still have it and use it for travel except that on one of those trips, I parked my car across from the Air & Space Museum in D.C. and someone broke in. All they took was my pack and a knit cap…so even the homeless(?) know a good pack when they see it. They left all kinds of electronic games they could have sold for some dough!
This isn’t really worth the price. Based on strength and utility alone, I’ve seen cheaper backpacks at Wal-Mart, etc. that far outshine this little thing. This is really quite small, don’t let the big numbers fool you.
I guess I could suggest this for elementary schoolers, but as a college student this really doesn’t work for me. I remember carrying even more books in high school, so yeah, that’s out too. When you get this, you’re really just paying for the name brand. They pocket the difference by sacrificing quality.
1. Smaller than it looks.
2. Very thin fabric.
3. The joke they call ‘padding’ doesn’t keep the sharp edges of any book from sticking into your back.
4. The straps feel very weak, and I don’t feel comfortable carrying all my books in it.
5. The backpack has a tendency to ‘slide’ down; the buckle doesn’t hold the straps well, so the nylon slides past it and causes the straps to loosen against your will.
