Incase Backpack Macbook Pro 15!
Incase Slingpack Review
Incase Backpack Macbook Pro 15 Questions
Neoprene sleeve versus hard shell for Macbook Pro?
I have a 15″ Macbook Pro that I’m looking to protect when I go to school. The computer will be going in and out of a backpack, as well as placed on some interesting surfaced I bet. I have seriously considered buying a hard shell, but after searching through many reviews, some people claim that dirt will get in between the case and the computer and scratch it all up. So then I started looking into the neoprene sleeve, which seems like a safer bet, but it wont protect your computer when its out of the sleeve.
What are the pros and cons of each? Which is the better investment? Should I get both? I have been looking at sleeves by Incase and shells by Incase and Speck.
Don’t get a hard shell. Everything you read about trapping dirt and causing scratches is true. They are purely for looks, not protection.
I have a neoprene sleeve for my 17″ MacBook Pro and it does a fantastic job keeping my computer amply padded.
Don’t worry about when it’s not in the sleeve. These are very, very tough computers. I walked into a door frame holding my computer and didn’t even scratch the case. I’ve dropped more sets of keys on my laptop than you could imagine. They will eventually scratch up around the trackpad area if you wear a watch or jewelry, but otherwise, you’re going to have to make a concerted effort to inflict any cosmetic damage.
