I remember in high school no one wanted to wear a raincoat or boots, we would rather come to class looking like drowned rats that be so uncool as to wear a raincoat. wore a half slip made out of lawyers of net, in different colors. It was wore with a gathered skirt to make it stand out . Believe me it was really the thing to have. Then you wore a wide belt that was made out of elastic
It made your waist look smaller,ha-ha. The boys wore black leather jackets, to make them look cool. It was suppose to make them look tough.
Of course the jocks wore their Letterman’s jacket. If a girl got to wear a guys letterman jacket, you thought you was really something special. Oh yeah, I was lucky I got to wear a jacket or two. I don’t even remember who’s jacket it was. It wasn’t like we was going steady. I think I wanted to be envied by other girls and ask to wear their jacket. I just wanted to be cool.
We also wore a straight skirt, in a light tan. It had a piece in the middle of the skirt in the back with a buckle on it. If you wanted to look like the in crowd of girls, you definitely had to have one of those skirts. You always ordered a cherry coke.
