What’s the ultimate back to school list?
I’m going into my first year of high school and I’m sooo excited!:] I just need a list of things to get for going back, like clothes, shoes, school supplies? etc. My budget is $400 but, I’m sure I can go over that. I’m really girly, but the dress code at my school is fairly strict, I don’t wear dresses or skirts to school, shorts must be no more than 5 inches above the back of the knee, my mom won’t let me buy any though, so, capris, bermudas, and jeans. Pleaseee help!!!!(: Thankss. <3 
Oh, btw, I like stores like Pac Sun, Hollister, American Eagle, Papaya, Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Zumiez, Abercrombie, Rave, Billabong, Wet Seal, and Aeropostale. If that helps anyy(: I also plan on getting a backpack, not a bag.

School supplies: Your school should supply you with a list before the fall. Call your school and find out what their policy is. If you get a 3 ring binder, don’t cheap out because the cheap ones give you grief by breaking. Best pencils are Ticonderoga. Smooth writing ballpoint pens: Papermate Profile. Best erasers: Magic Rub. Don’t get that stupid ruler that bends! Get a stiff plastic or good old wooden one. Target and Wal-Mart have the best prices. You may need to buy a more advanced calculator for algebra, but your teacher can tell you about that. Backpacks: Have had good luck at Sports Chalet (Southern California); they have sturdy but good styles – you pay more but will last you more than one year.
Clothing: Don’t get too much all at once. When you get to high school, you will have more of an idea of what the popular styles are, and they may not be what you thought! You can always buy more later. Look at fashion mags like Lucky and Seventeen for inspiration. There are cheap subscriptions to be gotten online. If you are in a hurry, just look at their websites. Get at minimum 2 pairs of nice fitting jeans – at least one pair should be straight legs. Jeggings and leggings come in handy too. Pair them with trendy tops from Forever 21. Think about getting a few cardigans for a third layer. Purses should be soft shoulder bags that feel good next to the body. Wear flats because you’ll be doing a lot of walking between classes. Get at least one nice warm jacket in a neutral color that will go with most things. Forever 21 also seems to have nice party dresses for dances. Get one pair of dress up heels in a metallic to go with your party clothing. Platforms make it more comfortable. Also, get one little evening bag to complete your outfit – your big hobo bag does not make it with evening clothes. Evening bags are everywhere and they don’t have to be expensive – Macy’s always has them on sale, as well as JC Penney, and some of the accessory stores in the mall. Speaking of accessories, think about getting a bold-faced watch if you don’t already have one – not only are they fashionable, you must be more time-conscious at high school. Oh yea, Target.com has the cutest rain boots – even some matching umbrellas.
Makeup: Before you spend a lot on makeup, check out makeupalley.com for reviews. There is a special section on “Best Value” – quality makeup for less! Drugstores always have sales. Also there is E.L.F. online, which has some great products & some not-so-good ones – you need to investigate before you buy. Also check out Paula’s Choice online – you can subscribe to the Beautypedia for 50% off – just google Paula’s Choice coupons.
