Camping tents and their Color

When you are purchasing camping tents there are always certain characteristics that may appear to be with the least importance. A few of these mistakenly unimportant attributes, in fact, are still essential factors after all. The most common of these attribute is the “color of the tent”.

From cheap camping tents to the best camping tents sold in the market today, many, if not all, have a massive variety of shapes, sizes, designs, style and color.

When choosing the color of your tents, it more often than not chosen out of personal preference. While each and everyone have their own reason for choosing such shade the most common are known to be green and bluish gray. Although there are also bright ones, from neon to pastel, and can be of much help if in any case you lose track of the place, it is still discourages since it can be annoying to other campers and hikers as it can cause visual disturbance. It lessens that overall natural look of the wilderness. Environmentally blending tent shades are the most recommended that is also both pleasing to the eyes inside and out. Colors like charcoal; burgundy, brown, white, grey, tan and teal would probably best fit with the description.

Now, the essentiality of the color of your tent does not stop there. Did you know that it is also linked with its durability? Probably not known by many but there are certain colors that don’t do well when exposed too much under the sun’s rays a.k.a. ultra violet rays making it break down faster and deteriorate through frequent mid day sun exposure. Too much basking in the sun’s rays can also cause color fading and may also lead to brittle and cracked fabric.

Color is also a factor affecting the light conditions as well as the temperature of your outdoor camping tents. A light shade tent will reflect away heat but will be making the interiors brighter and warmer. And obviously on the other hand, darker tents absorb more heat and lets in lesser light in the interiors. Whichever you prefer don’t forget to also take note and consider season and weather, so you can choose the most suitable gear for you or your family.

Next time you are shopping for some camping or hiking tents make sure you choose a color that would best suit your purpose. Choose well and have fun.
