Definitely better to use a backpack. I had a tote bag in elementary school, and that was a bad choice on my part– I can’t even imagine what a pain in the neck a tote bag would be in high school (I’m starting this year too). With so many books, notebooks, and folders, you’ll really screw up your shoulder by using a tote bag.
