If somebody thought you looked gay with that then they are stupid. They are much easier to use when carrying books and they have all kinds of great pockets of such for your mp3 player, calculator, and sometimes pencils. Go for it!! It will come in handy all the time, during school and outside of school if your one to carry books to read around with you like me.
